Formed in 2006, The Last Kinection (TLK) consists of Jacob Turier (aka DJ Jaytee) and siblings Joel (Weno) and Naomi Wenitong from the Kabbi Kabbi mob of south-east Queensland. Weno is a former member of Local Knowledge, Naomi of Shakaya. The trio formed not long after the passing of four elders from Joel and Naomi's clan, hence the name The Last 'KIN'ection.
The trio say forming this band became a way for them to honour and express their pride, respect and knowledge for their culture and last remaining elder, their beloved grandmother, Nutches.
The Last Kinection can also be heard on Cannot Buy My Soul, a tribute album to the legendary Kev Carmody.
