About Yulugi

Yulugi is a collaboration between Gumaroy Newman, a Gamilaroi and Wakka Wakka song man and didjeridu player, and Keyna Wilkins, a NSW-based composer and musician (piano, flute). They combine Aboriginal and Western sounds in structured improvisation.

Formed in early 2019, Yulugi describes itself as "a dialogue across cultures, inspired by the Australian landscape and animals, and accompanied by projected imagery". 'Yulugi' means to play, dance or have fun in Gamilaroi.
